Kevin P. Harris, MSN-HCSM, RN, NE-BC
Bio: Kevin is currently the Manager, Central Staffing at Houston Methodist Hospital, located in the Texas Medical Center in Houston Texas. He began his career in health care by working as a Nursing Assistant in a small community hospital in Jacksonville, Alabama. Since that time, he has logged nearly twenty years of experience in various areas of patient care (travel nurse, critical care RN, house supervisor, clinical director, and nurse manager).
In addition to his extensive clinical experience, Kevin also has a notable academic background that includes a Bachelor’s degree in nursing and a dual master’s degree (Master of Science in Nursing and MSN Healthcare Systems Management) from Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana. Most recently, Kevin obtained his Nurse Executive Board Certification.
During the years, Kevin observed the steady incline for the need of quality care systems and advanced technology, in areas related to patient care and overall healthcare. In his aspiration to meet these needs, Kevin, has lead several highly visible projects that have been recognized as best practice throughout the system.
Kevin’s combination of clinical education and experience, provides a strong foundation of leadership for the progression of healthcare systems. With keen knowledge of both the clinical & administrative nature of the nursing world, Kevin is able to implement systems that not only help the Hospital run efficiently and effectively, but ultimately, help the patients to have assurance that they are receiving the highest level of patient care.
